Play Writing, Mime,
Creative Dramatics, Paint Bucket
Theatre, Improv
Offering vibrant,
hands-on learning experiences for
kids of all ages.
In the workshops:
The more ways a child can experience
a workshop, the more effective it
is. My approach appeals to all
of the senses, always offers hands
on learning experiences, and often
includes kids helping other kids. We
all understand lessons better after
teaching them to others.
In the plays:
Any of the Fairy
Tale Courtroom series
are good basic introductions to American
courtroom procedures... with some
theatrical moments for comic effect.
Shakespearian
Shorts introduces
kids to Shakespeare in a fun, off-beat
way. This trilogy was inspired
by the Warner Brothers cartoons,
especially the Bugs Bunny Operas
that I watched growing up. Adults
of a certain age, upon hearing Wagner's "Ride
of the Valkyries" for the first
time, start singing in Elmer Fudd's
voice, "Kill the Wabbit, Kill
the Wabbit..."!
All three of the plays in Shakespearian
Shorts follow the same plot lines
as the originals that inspired them.
What befalls those original, tragic,
characters also happens in these
comic spoofs... just a bit differently. |
